How to Brush Your Teeth Animation MCM
To brush and floss properly for good oral health, follow these steps:
How to Brush Properly:
- Use a soft-bristled toothbrush with rounded bristles that can reach all the way to the back teeth. Replace your toothbrush every three months.
- Hold the brush at a 45-degree angle to your teeth with the bristles pointing where your gum and teeth meet. Use gentle circular motions rather than hard scrubbing to avoid gum damage.
- Clean every surface of every tooth—including the cheek side, tongue side, and chewing surfaces—taking your time to do a thorough job. Brush for about two to three minutes.
- Don’t forget to brush your tongue to remove bacteria and keep your breath fresh.
- Brush twice a day, ideally last thing before bed and once more during the day.
How to Floss Properly:
- Use about an arm’s length of floss, wrapping most of it around your middle fingers and leaving 2 to 3 inches to work with. Use your thumbs and index fingers to guide the floss between your teeth.
- Gently slide the floss between your teeth, curving it into a C-shape around each tooth and moving it up and down along the tooth surface, going just below the gum line.
- Floss both sides of every tooth, including the backs of your last molars. Use a clean section of floss as you move from tooth to tooth.
- Floss at least once a day, preferably before brushing, so brushing can remove the loosened plaque and debris effectively.
- Consider floss types and tools that suit your dental needs—waxed floss, dental tape, floss threaders, or water flossers can help, especially if you have braces or tight spaces.
Additional Tips:
- Avoid rinsing your mouth with water immediately after brushing to allow the fluoride toothpaste to work longer.
- You can also use interdental brushes if they fit well, especially for wider spaces.
- Proper brushing and flossing remove plaque and foods that cause gum disease and cavities, supporting overall oral health.
This method efficiently removes plaque that causes gum disease and tooth decay and maintains healthy teeth and gums when done regularly and correctly
